Thank you for your interest in Spring Creek Gardens! Our goal is to deliver high-quality wholesale bedding plants, vegetables, herbs, containers, and baskets throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Customer service has always been our highest priority, and that means providing our wholesale customers with the highest quality plants that will thrive for the home gardener.
Please enjoy “digging” around the rest of our webpage! You will find our policy on neonicotinoids and genetically-modified plants (GMO), plus what Spring Creek is doing to be as sustainably responsible as we can.
We use every pest management tool, whether organic or conventional, in compliance with labeled usage. The safety of our employees, customers, pollinators, and overall environmental impact is at the forefront of our concern.
The use of pesticides containing Neonicotinoids is avoided at Spring Creek Gardens, and many of our suppliers have also stopped using these pesticides. We continually use cultural or biological controls as our first line of defense, and with every new season we depend more and more on the use of beneficial insects that target the species that cause damage.
Spring Creek Gardens does not use any genetically modified organisms. We have a written policy from all major suppliers that they do not supply seeds or plant starts that are GMO.
At Spring Creek Gardens we have an aggressive recycling program. Wherever possible, we try to reuse nursery containers. Those that cannot be reused are recycled. Even the greenhouse plastic itself is reused onto smaller houses before eventually being recycled, many years down the road.
Much of the new plastic we use is also made from recycled materials!
We have partnered with Energy Trust of Oregon to install root-zone heating into many of our houses. This is a very efficient means of heating the plants where they need it the most–at the roots! This allows the ambient air temperature of the greenhouses to be kept much lower, and results in a nicer, more garden-friendly plant for our valued customers!
Spring Creek Gardens was started in 1984 by Brent and Becky Skiles, and is now transitioning to the second and third generations! Day to day operations are now managed by their daughter, who has been in the business with them for many years. The grandchildren also work when school allows, so we are truly a family-owned business!
Although Spring Creek Gardens is wholesale only, our plants are readily available throughout Oregon at many Fred Meyer and Bi-Mart stores. Our product can also be found at Jerry’s Building Supply in Eugene and Springfield, as well as other independent retail outlets throughout the state. Our trucks deliver up and down the length of the Oregon I-5 corridor; into the eastern part of the state as far as Bend, Redmond and Prineville; and along the entire Oregon coastline.
We take pride in the fact that many of our employees have been with us for years, and that their families are now becoming part of our team. One of our key strategies is to keep the younger generations fully engaged in gardening.
